Letters from the Teacher's Desk

Today I am linking up with BTL for the letter linky! Sometimes I want to "write letters" and post them on facebook about random activities, but it's usually too sarcastic to post! So today I will attempt to draft/post some thoughts in letter form that are actually appropriate to post.

Dear almost-college student:
Your recent piercing is an expression of your adulthood, I get it, I guess. But I sure wish you had put that $$ away for college. Your money management skills frighten me.
Love,
Mom

Dear Cornfields:
Driving down the road sure is scary when I can't see what is coming on the side roads. I am now a granny-driver, slowing down at random intersections, and creeping along in fear. Thank you for aging me beyond my years.
Thanks,
Frightened Commuter

Speaking of driving.....

Dear Crazy Rush-hour Commuters:
I am pretty sure I have PTSD from situations just like the one I encountered on Friday, so thanks for bearing with me as I screamed in the rear view mirror, "Don't hit me, don't hit me, don't hit me!" And wake up for crying out loud, this accident was caused by someone clipping the back of the other person's car. Don't be distracted and don't practice stupid road-rage tactics, they are dangerous.
Sincerely,
PTSD driver

Dear Teaching Partner:
I can't stop saying nice things about you. This is actually only in part because you really are that awesome, but also because one day we will have to draw on our appreciation of each other to get through a difference of opinion. Also, positivity is a sweet color and tint my world a rosy color that helps me to see things in a different light. This will carry us far on those days that my inexperience overwhelms. Lastly, I am aware that I have a choice today, and I choose to be the enthusiastic, sunny teacher who is annoyingly optimistic.  I know there will be days when we will need an extra dose of optimism.
Sincerely,
Faking bravery new teacher in the building

Those are my letters this time. Michelle will be hosting this little party every other Sunday. I might start my next post early as I randomly come across situations I want to broadcast. Happy Reading!

  1. Oh my gosh! It is so nice to hear that I am not the only one screaming "Don't hit me!" into the rear view mirror!
